What We Did

Manufacturing Facility: Explosion-Proof Detection for a Class 1, Division 2 Environment

Manufacturing Facilities

Overview

A large engineering firm tasked our distributor, Buckley Associates, with finding a gas detection solution for CO, H₂, and CH₄ across four key points in a manufacturing facility. The site was classified as Class 1, Division 2—demanding explosion-proof equipment and strict zoning.

What We Did

NTEC designed a system using PX2 explosion-proof sensors, a zoned DGC6 controller, and EP-06/CON5 modules for flexibility. Over a year, the project was redesigned 3 times to meet evolving requirements, including the addition of 3 horn strobe alarms and BMS integration via dry contacts.

Student Housing Garage Retrofit: Fast, Cost-Effective Retrofit for Obsolete Sensors

Overview

An engineer reached out with an urgent issue: the PG1 sensors in a student housing garage were damaged, but the product line was obsolete. A direct replacement wasn’t available—he needed a quick and budget-friendly retrofit.

What We Did

INTEC recommended upgrading to the PG2 platform, which maintained compatibility with existing wiring. We instantly pulled the original riser diagram by job name, and the system was shipped factory-programmed to eliminate on-site configuration.
